A 'Dirty Dancing' Remake Is Officially Happening

'Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights' tho.

The classic dance movie that got you into (let's be honest) much better dance movies is getting a remake. A three hour TV musical remake to be exact. But quit your shuddering for a second, because deadpan qt Abigail Breslin (Scream Queens, Little Miss Sunshine) has been cast to play Baby.

Hopefully her pipes do justice to the OG Dirty Dancing's absolutely banging soundtrack. Fingers crossed that perms, exposed midriffs and questionable love affairs also feature heavily.

We are less angered by the news of this remake than baffled by the fact that anyone would attempt to surpass the Dirty Dancing sequel released in 2004. In our humble opionions, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights is one of the greatest adaptations ever made. Set on the cusp of the Cuban revolution, it was packed full of political drama, cultural tension and, of course, salsa.

Tbh, a Dirty Dancing that took things to the clurb was always going to be way better than the original.
Brb, learning how to do the salsa.
