A Major Dior Retrospective Is Coming To Melbourne

Jackie from The Real Housewives of Melbourne is probably wetting herself with excitement right now because a massive Christian Dior couture exhibition is coming to Melbs. FYI, this is how you pronounce couture darling:

Love you, Jacks.

Taking place at the National Gallery of Victoria, House of Dior: 70 Years of Haute Couture will feature 140 garments created between 1947 and today. The exhibition also marks the 70th anniversary of the most iconic French luxury house. Happy birthday, bb.

The gallery has secured pieces from all six Dior head designers meaning you'll be able to track the evolution of the house from its 1947 "new look" collection, through John Galliano's fabulous reign and right up until Raf Simons' recent stint as the big boss. We really hope this look makes it in too:

Curator Katie Somerville told the SMH that a whole area of the exhibit will be dedicated to exploring the links between Dior and Australia. "Many people ... have not been aware [of the Australian connection] ... so for a general audience that will be quite the revelation," she explained.

"What we wanted to do from the outset was not to take an existing project or something that was touring but to be in there from the ground, building a project that hadn't been seen before."

Couldn't be keener!

The House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture will run from August 27-November 7, 2017 @ the NGV. For more info and to purchase tickets head here!
