ANTM Recap Episode 1: "Not trying to sound cocky, but I'm the best"

Plus we catch up with the first evictee.

The season premier of Australia's Next Top Model aired last night and it was a glossy, sassy dream come true. The production values have soared this year and the nationwide audition process went undocumented, kicking off with a pre-selected group of twelve finalists. The models faced their first runway challenge and posed for intimiate portraits shot by Oyster #106 cover photographer Gary Heery.

This season's loveable bogan Brittany dropped the, "no one has ever called me beautiful" bomb just a few minutes in and Ayieda quickly established herself as the group diva saying, "I'm not trying to sound cocky, but I'm the best." Her ankles also did some very freaky things on the catwalk, causing serious concern among the mentors. Pretty much everyone cried at some point during the episode, obvs. But the award for best use of tears by a contestant goes to Alex, who experienced a full on existensial crisis when asked what type of girl she wanted to portray during the photoshoot.

But it was shy gal Kaitlyn who froze up in the photoshoot and was the first girl to go home. Find out more about her in our Q&A below.
