Donatella Versace's SS17 Menswear Show Was A Straight Up Prince Tribute

Purple reign.

Donatella Versace and Prince's friendship will go down as one of the most precious/fab in history; so it makes good sense that the queen included both classic and unreleased tracks from the late funk legend in Versace's SS17 Menswear show. The collection also looked distinctively Prince with its ruffled blouses, purple hints and super tight tailored suits. Magic.

"The soundtrack features never-before-heard music by Prince, which was written and recorded as a personal gift to Donatella," a press statement read. "Donatella would like to use this special occasion as an opportunity to share this incredible music from a dear, and much missed friend." Along with the new music, the playlist also included remixes of such timeless tracks as 'Kiss' and 'Don't Have To Be Rich'.

Turns out Donna has been sitting on the never-before-heard tracks for a while now, saying that Prince sent her those songs five months ago. "He sent me music all the time. People look for the vault — I am the vault," she casually told the New York Times. Definition of #goals right there.

Dressed in a dope purple suit that was obviously inspired by the purple angel himself, Donatella joined a line-up of positively ripped models for the finale of the show, and everyone everywhere shed a little tear.

From active and sporty to dressy and tailored, our new SS17 men's collection has it all. Check it out on @versace_official
