Emily The Strange Is Getting Her Own Movie

Mood: apathetic.

Most alternative chick of all time Emily the Strange (come on, even her cat's wore ties) is getting her very own animated film. In other news: there's been an unexpected resurgence in MySpace use among teens. Lol, jks.

Amazon Studios are in the process of aquiring the intellectual property of Emily the Strange which you may remember from everything you ever bought from Dangerfield. Originally created by skateboarder Rob Reger, Emily came to define #goals for a generation of emo girls and her excellent style and badass attitude remain relevant to this day.

Universal was planning to make a live action Emily the Strange movie back in 2005, which ended up falling through, but Amazon is sticking to Em's roots with an animated feature that will presumably be executed in black, red and white only.

Remind yourself what a bad bitch Emily is below.
