Emma Watson Wins Burberry's Artist Of The Year Award, Thanks Hamster

RIP Miller.

Last night, the 2014 BAFTA Jaguar Britannia Awards in LA honoured the best of UK talent, the least of which was Emma Watson. The UN Goodwill Ambassador and all-around lovely human being was presented with the award of British Artist of the Year from British luxury lords, Burberry.

Like the fashion house, the work of Watson is all about high-quality craftsmanship via acting, so it was a good match. When it came to accepting her award, Emma took a different approach to her now-famous speech on feminism. She told the crowd at the Beverly Hilton all about her childhood pet — a hamster named Miller. Speaking how he died of a heart attack (RIP) on the set of the first Harry Potter film, Emma said:

"The set decorators built a small mahogany hamster-sized coffin. It had a velvet lining and a silver plaque on the front, which had Millie’s name engraved on it ... what I am trying to say is that you are all very special to me."
While the point she was making was about how the entertainment industry have always been chill to her, it doubled as prove that Emma Watson is so angelic, she makes the death of pets sound funny and cute. #tinycoffin
