Exclusive: Georgia Alice AW14 'Battenberg'
A beach tea party with Battenberg cake.
24-year-old New Zealand designer Georgia Alice is the gal behind the eponymous label and she likes mermaids as much as she likes man-style silhouettes that are both comfy and luxurious. That's pretty much exactly what her label's AW14 collection 'Battenberg' is offering. This season, the award-winning young designer has been solidifying her love for genderless luxe — creating a line that's inspired by the sea in Bali and the daydreamy idea of mermaids enjoying a (black) tea party at the beach, eating Battenberg cake.
With pale pinks, powder blues meeting splashes of red typography and dark denim, the collection is a trans-seasonal keeper. It looks like the kind of sexy-relaxed clothing you could just throw on and go — an idea that Valentina Sykes is only furthering in the Ben Sullivan-shot campaign above.
