FKA Twigs' Full 'Baltimore Dance Project' Doco Is Here And It's FKN Incred
Happy Twigsmas! Our doe-eyed dancer teased the trailer for her 'Baltimore Dance Project' this morning, and already we have been gifted the entire thing. That's right: what a time to be alive.
Taking place in Baltimore's Lithuanian Hall, and open to the city's intermediate and advanced rug cutters, Twigs and her crew Ramon Baynes, Dominic Lawrence and Kash Powell shared some smooth moves to some gorg bodies.
WeTransfer obv knew a good thing was happening, so they decided to document the whole five-hour-long series of routines and get Nick Walker to direct it into an incred doco.
"Over the past couple of years, Baltimore has always seemed to be in the news for really sad and tragic things," Twigs explains on the project's website. "When I was thinking about doing a dance project, the obvious places would be LA or New York but I thought why not go to a place that obviously has so much soul and so much amazing energy? You'll be able to connect with them rather than being another artist that is passing through."
"When you are there and everyone's laughing, or you walk down the street and someone helps you with something. How you feel a beat pulsing under your feet that makes you want to explore. When you call 400 people into a room and by themselves they start whiling out and going crazy, doing backflips, dancing together. That's soul. That's vitality."
Head over here and wait for the top of the page to start streaming the genius.
