Gaultier gives Hermes the Flick

After seven years of collaboration, Jean-Paul Gaultier has resigned from his position as artistic director of women's ready-to-wear at Hermes. The Spring Summer 2011 collection, to be revealed in October later this year, will be the last collection that Gaultier creates for Hermes.

Hermes, who still holds a 45% share in Gaultier's house, has appointed Christophe Lemaire (who worked as Lacoste's creative director for eight years) as artistic director of women's reader-to-wear, an appointment that will see his first collection for Fall Winter 2011 released next year.
