Gucci's New Campaign Pulls Through On Black Masculinity And Cool Soul
It's not news that Gucci have people all out frothing every time they launch a campaign, but it's different this time you guys. The house has whipped out a heated set of images, which are a direct tribute to Northern Soul and feature an all-black cast. It is fahhhresh.
Totally different to the illuminate-related FW17 show, the campaign was inspired by the exhibition titled Made You Look — which explored black masculinity and Dandy looks. Malick Sidibé's iconic 60s photography of the black American soul music scene is also referenced, with the cast pulling rare dance moves and just generally being the most alive group of humans on the planet rn.
Shot by Glen Luchford, the campaign is titled Soul Scene and can be laid on thick in the gallery above.
