Luxury street lords, Hood by Air are a straight up ground-breaking label which boasts love and affection from the likes of A$AP Rocky and Yeezus. Eckhaus Latta are the similarly genius design duo we interviewed in Oyster #103. Now just to make EL and HBA's artistic brilliance official, the Museum of Arts and Design in NYC has decided to feature them in their NYC Makers: The MAD Biennial.
The exhibition looks set to include about 100 pieces, two of which will be Hood By Air's Parachute Jacket (above) and Flight Shorts from their Spring Summer 2014 collection. Focusing on craftsmanship, be it high or low brow, the Biennial will present and expose the talent of NYC. There's a huge amount of creatives showing. It's pretty nifty that a curator has decided to exhibit pieces from all over the artistic map — you'll be able to view HBA's detailed designs alongside a demonstration of special effects. All in the one place!
As the MAD director Glenn Adamson said
, "NYC Makers uncovers the variety of production and creativity in the city, and places a spotlight on the skilled individuals who spend every day crafting our futures."
