Jay Z Vs. Yoko Ono

The old 'you broke up The Beatles' line.

Hey Jay Z, we love you and all — you're married to Bey and you're good at music. But throwing shade on legendary artist/musician/activist Yoko Ono on the Justin Timberlake track 'Murder' is something we will not tolerate. The track in question is taken from JT's new album, which is currently streaming on iTunes and includes Jay Z spitting the lines "Yoko Ono, she got that Yoko Ono / You know that shit that made John Lennon go solo / Know that shit gotta be lethal / If that shit broke up The Beatles." Not cool. We get that Yoko Ono is famous for allegedly breaking up The Beatles, but we thought Jay Z was a sensitive, Maria Abramovic-loving, artsy type, rather than a Yoko Ono-dissing type.

Lucky for Jay Z, Yoko gives no shits, telling The Atlantic, "Many, many people in the world think that I did break up The Beatles," adding "instead of using my energy and my time trying to correct them, I'm just going on writing songs. I'm using my energy on that." That, and creating some really really zen tweets

P.S. Here she is, doing a beautiful rendition of Katy Perry's 'Firework.'
