John Kilar's Seattle

"Managed to not get arrested."
John Kilar is US photographer that sends us dispatches from wherever the hell is he happens to be at the time. The always on-the-move kid's previously shared his photo diaries from San Francisco and New York with us — now it's Seattle's turn. They say it's the birth place of grunge. There's wealth, there's poverty, there's old mansions and there's squats. John captured a slice of it all, just for us. Here's what he had to say.
I cruised up to Seattle from the bay. Nomadic adventures 2.0 had officially begun. Didn't quite know what to expect. Ended up crashing in punk houses and squats. Some were filthier than others. Watched late-night anime at anarchist coffee co-ops. Ate pizza almost every day. Parks, lots of parks. May or may not have almost drowned. Played soccer at underground raves. Lurked around town and met some rad kids. Managed to not get arrested. Turned my head into a rainbow. Eventually jumped in a van full of hippies and headed to the forest.
