Madonna (Kind Of) Apologises For Altered Nelson Mandela & Martin Luther King Pictures

In this latest edition of What Was Madonna Thinking, the pop icon has instagrammed pictures of Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King with thin black cords wrapped around their faces as a homage to her own forthcoming Rebel Hearts album cover.
After a forseeable barrage of internet backlash, cool mom Madonna has spoken out to deny any allegations of racism. "I'm sorry I'm not comparing my self to anyone. I'm admiring and acknowledging their Rebel Hearts. This is neither a crime or an insult or racist!," annouced Madonna via Facebook. She went on to say that she is flattered by the fan-made images that place her in the same category as these historical figures.
John Lennon, Princess Diana, Michael Jackson, Homer Simpson and Jesus (?!) are among the other questionable celebrities subject to the #rebelhearts face wrap. "None of these #rebelhearts are perfect, they are human and come from all walks of life but all have one thing in common. All Freedom Fighters! All Brave! And all have inspired me as an Artist and a Human," explains Madonna.
Not sure if Homer is exactly a freedom fighter Madonna, but okay.
