Maison Martin Margiela '20' The Exhibition @ Somerset House

A new exhibition is celebrating twenty years of Maison Martin Margiela's creative genius in London. Maison Martin Margiela '20' The Exhibition opened at Somerset House in London (the site of London Fashion Week) on June 3rd.

The show, displayed over three levels, includes classic designs such as Margiela's signature Tabi boots and pieces specially recreated for the exhibit. The exhibition focuses on the themes that underpin Margiela's image, such as the label's deconstructivist aethetic, the trompe l'oiel illusions and the couture atelier white coats worn by Margiela's shop assistants.

The exhibition will go beyond the display of fashion with catwalk videos, installations, jewellery and three films revealing the wardrobes of three of the most avid Margiela collectors. The exhibition, curated by the MOMU Fashion Museum in Antwerp, will be in London until September.
