Netflix Wants To Pay You To Watch Netflix All Day
Where do we sign?!
Today could be the best day of your life because Netflix are looking to pay someone (with ACTUAL MONEY) to watch Netflix shows all day. You heard right — you could be getting paid to do the very thing you're already doing! That is, sitting on your couch in those tracksuits pants that are thinning at the butt, binge watching Orange Is The New Black. Except for cash money! Despite not being eligible, just knowing that such a job exists makes us ridiculously happy.
It's only a matter of time before on such dream job is offered in Australia (the current vacancies are for people in UK/Ireland). Boo! While the official Australian launch of Netflix has been vaguely referred to for a while now, there's reportedly over 150,000-200,000 Netflix users currently subscribed to the US service, which means house-bound locals are giving $2 million in revenue per month to the lords of TV. If that's not evidence that us Australians need to be hired as TV-watchers, then we don't know what is.
It's worth noting that this job is not for the faint of heart. Oh no — it's not all kittens and rainbows in the world of Taggers (as the roles are officially named.) Taggers are expected to "deconstruct the films and programmes and describe them using objective tags." Which sounds fine until you're forced to watch back-to-back episodes of faith-based children's entertainment. No wonder Netflix are so sassy when they're recommending you TV shows. Just because we liked 13 Going On 30, does NOT mean we'll like Failure To Launch. Stay out of our minds!
