New York City Declares Today 'John Lennon Day', And Yoko Ono Announces New Album

Imagine all the people.

Today is a good day for giving peace a chance. New York City has declared July 29 to officially be John Lennon Day, in honour of his "great courage and unwavering commitment to building a better world." Yes!

To mark the occasion, a tapestry in honour of John Lennon was unveiled on Ellis Island at a ceremony attended by Yoko Ono, Bono, Nadya Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot and more. Yoko, as always, had some very wise words to say:

In related news, Yoko also announced a new collaborative album set to come out in early 2016. A follow-up to her 2007 album, Yes, I'm A Witch, the new one is called Yes, I'm A Witch Too, and will feature new collaborations and remixes from Death Cab For Cutie, Sean Ono Lennon, Cibo Matto and lots of other cool ppl.

The title of the album seems particularly apt as Yoko is the queen of witchy tweets, such as:

Yes, I'm A Witch Too will be released on January 22nd, 2016 via Manimal.
