Oyster Playlist: KLO's Debut EP Inspirations

'Cusp' is out now!

Melbourne cutie pies Chloe Kaul and Simon Lam are KLO. Their debut EP 'Cusp' saw its official release yesterday and to celebrate they made us a playlist! Here are the top ten songs that inspired them while producing the record, including fellow Melburnian Oscar Key Sung, fellow sensitive soul Drake and more.

Little Dragon — 'Ritual Union'
"Yukimi's tone...and everything else about this album. An experimental band whom you couldn't place in a specific genre."

Oskar Key Sung — 'All I Could Do'
"Dance music with an actual song at the core of it- a perfect example."

Tessela — 'Hackney Parrot'
"This opened us up to more aggressive vocal sampling. We had this on repeat whilst creating our first video clip."

Four Tet On His Live Set
"There are some very smart people out there, we want to be smart just like them."

Lone — 'Airglow Fires'
"For most car rides together."

James Vincent McMorrow — 'Cavalier'
"A lot of our time is spent improvising on the piano in the home studio. There's where we find our most honest/rawest work."

Jail Paul — BTSTU
"He makes 'Don't F*** with me' sound inviting."

Spooky Black — Without You
"A smooth, simple song with strong melodies. Simple music is sometimes more impressive."

Drake — 'Too Much'
"Don't think about it too much."

James Blake — 'The Whilhelm Scream'
"The first track we bonded over and quite possibly our favourite artist."
