Rihanna Unintentionally Busts Animal Smugglers

Frees endangered Slow Loris via Instagram.

Patron saint of Instagram selfies and posing with blunts, Rihanna, has done a charitable deed for the endangered species of Thailand over the weekend, and she wasn't even trying. While RiRi was on vacay, she was handed an undeniably cute Slow Loris — the miniature creatures known for their adorably bulbous eyes and love of holding umbrellas. Naturally, she took a selfie. Who could blame her. What would you do?! But as the Slow Loris is a well-endangered primate, and the people who let Rihanna hold one were, you know, illegal animal smugglers — the authorities were alerted and the two vendors were totally arrested.

According to Yahoo, a Phuket district chief said "authorities have tried for years to crack down on the problem of vendors exploiting wildlife, particularly in popular tourist areas where people pay to pose for pictures with elephants, orangutans and other animals." Props to Rihanna for drawing attention to the international animal smuggling issue. Even if she didn't do it on purpose and probably doesn't even care.
