Rowan Blanchard To Star In Carrie Brownstein-Directed Kenzo Film

Chicks, chicks, chicks.

Riot grrrl Carrie Brownstein is about to pop her directorial cherry with a short film for Kenzo. The exciting project is called The Realest Real, will show at NYFW and stars smart angel Rowan Blanchard. Three cheers for grrrls everywhere!

Rowan took to Instagram to reveal the good news, posting a picture of herself alongside a stacked cast of cool peeps like Natasha Lyonne, Mahershala Ali and Kim Gordon, all decked out in sick Kenzo threads. According to reportsThe Realest Real centres on our obsession with technology (holler if this is one of the million tabs open on your iPhone RN).

Other than the vague plot-line and September release date, there's been little other news about the film. But, given that Portlandia, Sleater-Kinney and Rowan Blanchard are all the best of the best, we're still pretty dang excited! Also, Kenzo also has a pretty, pretty good track record of enlisting talented ppl to direct great short films for them. For e.g. that time Sean Baker filmed Abbey Lee Kershaw eating dessert in the desert:
