Ryan Gosling Unveils Teaser For Directorial Debut 'Lost River'

Hey girl, look at my muscles.

Your future husband Ryan Gosling is set to premiere his directorial debut Lost River at the Cannes Film Festival this week, and apropos of its imminent critical reception Gosling has just released the fim's first teaser.

The clip provides little inisight into the film's narrative that, according to IMDB, is about a single mother who is swept into a dark underworld, while her teenage son discovers a road that leads him to a secret underwater town. What it does provide is a glimpse of an almost-unrecognisable Matt Smith (Dr Who) as a skinhead draped in gold paillettes, and sets a nightmarish, atmospheric tone reminisicent of mood-driven filmmakers like David Lynch and Gosling's Drive and Only God Forgives collaborator, Nicholas Winding Refn.

The film, which was also written by Gosling, astars Christina Hendricks, Ben Mendelsohn, Eva Mendes and Saoirse Ronan, and is set for limited theatrical release in October 2014.
