Sex Pistols' John Lydon Backs Brexit, Could Be Trump's Mate

So punk.
John Lydon was once called for anarchy in the UK, then turned to pacifism. Just now has announced how keen he is on Brexit and Trump. A bit of a shemozzle for the old punk, who said the UK leaving the EU would be "insane and suicidal," and responded to Trump's election chances with "No, I can't see it happening, it's a minority that support him at best, and it's so hateful and ignorant."

The flip-flop has come about in an appearance on Good Morning Britain, where John chats to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid about Trump not being racist.

"What I dislike is the left-wing media in America are trying to smear the bloke as a racist, and that’s completely not true," he says. "There's many, many problems with him as a human being, but he's not that, and there just might be a chance something good will come out of that situation, because he terrifies politicians. And this is joy to behold." Righto.

When Piers calls Trump "the absolutely archetypal anti-establishment character in politics," John is like, "Dare I say, a possible friend. Think of the rows we could have." So punk.

On Brexit, he's all: "The working class have spoke, and I'm one of them, and I'm with them. And there it is." Even though he's now a US citizen.
