Tavi Workshopped Emma Watson's UN Speech

Although, not very well because busy.

Last month Emma Watson regaled us all with a brief history of her and gal pal Tavi Gevinson's friendship, saying that they'd regularly bounce work-related ideas off of one another. "When I took my position as goodwill ambassador for UN Women," she told Nylon, "I asked her to read through something I was writing, and she very kindly did."

But now, in a shocking turn of events, Tavi has admitted that, actually, she totally flaked on Emma when it came to reading over her now-famous speech. Speaking to The Cut at a New Yorker Festival party this weekend Tavi said: "She had emailed me to, like, look at stuff, and I felt like a jerk because I didn't get around to it."

The lesson here? If Tavi can flake then anyone can. She was probably busy performing in the Broadway play This Is Our Youth alongside fellow young people Michael Cera and Kieran Culkin, whereas when we flake it's because there's a Law & Order marathon on TV that weekend. Tavi adds, "I mean, [Emma's] an angel. She's so rad. And that speech was amazing, she didn't need my help."
