The Men Of 'Moonlight' Front Calvin Klein's Spring Campaign
After earning Oscars victory in the most serendipitous way possible, the male cast of Barry Jenkins' incredible Moonlight can now be found fronting Calvin Klein's new campaign.
The images, shot by Willy Vanderperre, feature the beautiful rigs of Mahershala Ali, Trevante Rhodes, Alex Hibbert and Ashton Sanders. To accompany, Calvin Klein's website features a story, asking what it means for them to be "a man of the moment".
"Even after the performance is over," says Mahershala Ali, "I realise that you still have to service it. I'll be in a coffee shop and someone will come up to me and just open a vein… telling me how this struck a nerve for them, what their experience was. And I really try to be present for that. I'm really thankful for that."
Ashton talks about almost fainting when he met Raf Simons, and about flexing creativity: "I'm an artist," he says. "All my friends are about raising our artistic consciousness. I just wanna do dope stuff with dope people, man."
After the four profiles, it comes back to Mahershala: "It's only a shame that this isn't a franchise. It would be so great to get everyone back together," He says. "I did have the idea that we do a prequel, though. It'd be called Sunlight." Essential.
