Vic Mensa & Chance The Rapper Protest In Wake Of Laquan McDonald's Death

Justice for Laquan.

Chicago officials released a dash-cam video this morning depicting white Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke fatally shooting 17-year-old black male Laquan McDonald 16 times. The officer was charged with first-degree murder on Tuesday, and the release of the video has galvinised the community once again to protest throughout Chicago.

Hundreds of people took to the streets to peacefully protest the display of police brutality, as well as the recording's delayed release. Protestors are allegedly calling for an overhaul of the Chicago Police Department and demanding more resources for disenfranchised communities in the wake of the incident. At least three demonstrators have been taken into custody, among them poet/activist Malcom London.
