Watch The First Trailer For Winona Ryder's Freaky Netflix Show 'Stranger Things'
You know when a trailer opens with some tinkly, music-box music, things are about to get real weird real fast. So it shouldn't come as too much of a shock that the sleepy little town of Hawkins has some dark secrets — and it's up to your girl Winona Ryder to get to the bottom of them.
The first trailer for Stranger Things introduces us to Winona's character, a mother whose child has gone missing. The po-po tell her that it's usually a friend or relative who commit such a crime, but the hectic guys in hazmat suits, mysterious tatttos appearing on the arms of children and random blood noses suggest more ~supernatural~ causes.
The vibes are part Twin Peaks, part Stand By Me, and part The X-Files, with hints of government conspiracies, long-kept secrets and repressed memories seeping up from the town's seemingly idyllic appearance. Take a look at the first Stranger Things trailer below.
Stranger Things will premiere on Netflix on July 15, 2016.
