Yohji Yamamoto Gets A Retrospective Exhibit

With real life models.
Master of avant-garde tailoring, and movement's biggest fan, Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto will be saluted in a retrospective exhibit at Strut London's Live Archives.
Purposely treating his oeuvre as art, far removed from fashion 'trends', this isn't the first time a museum has picked him up. Pieces here and there have been displayed in over 40 museum shows over the past 30 years.
For this exhibition, pieces will be worn by real life models to celebrate the multiplicity of ways the garments are to be worn, and the way the shapes shift in motion. A selection of pieces will also be for sale. Hnnnng.
The exhibition runs from July 31 to August 8 and you can RSVP here, unless you can't. In which case you'll be glad that Strut London have promised to post a live stream link on the night.
